Dabchick Golf Society

Welcome to the Dabchick Golf Society

The Dabchick Golf Society is centred around the village of Aldbourne, near Marlborough in Wiltshire. The Dabchick Golf Society was conceived in 1994 “To be a society of friends who enjoyed playing golf as opposed to a ‘serious’ golfing society”.

Initially there was a core of three golfers, David Watson, Andrew & Jilly Hunter who pinned some notices up in the local Pubs to see if anyone might be interested. A meeting was held in the bottom bar of The Crown, Aldbourne and the Dabchick Golf Society was born.

The Society has developed and grown into what it is today with seven meetings a year; the two ‘bookends’ of the Spring Warm-up and the Winter Festive Fayre along with the Spring Cup, the Midsummer Open, the Society Shield, the Autumn Masters and Finals Day.

The Society is open to golfers of any standard, from absolute beginners to scratch players; everyone is welcome as long as you want to have fun with friends while playing a bit of golf.
